Transformations in the Economics of today

There are many characterizations of the economies that have undergone transformation. Service economy, high-tech economy, late-capitalism, post-Fordism, and global economy are some of the most frequently used terms. Closer terms to information economy include knowledge economy.

The Information Market

It is possible to construct exclusion artificially, though it is not a natural property of information goods. It is difficult to exclude others from using information if it is known. Information is often considered an example of a public good since it is both non-rivalrous and non-excludable.

The information market does not have high degrees of transparency. To evaluate the information, you have to know it so you can learn it. To evaluate a piece of software you have to learn to use it, and to evaluate a movie you have to watch it.

Critical mass is the social dynamics of the larger population and is formed by early adopters of new networks. Product maturity is when they become self-sustaining and is more likely to occur when there are positive cash flows, consistent revenue flows and brand engagement. To form a following, low initial prices need to be offered, along with wide-spread marketing.

Information about Economic Relations and the Processes of Social Reproduction in Management

Information about economic relations and the processes of social reproduction is used in the system of management of the national economy alongside other types of information. Economic information is only useful to the extent that it is new and useful for solving some problems in the national economy, as the data and reports are only valuable to the extent that they are received. Economic information can be classified as background or management information depending on its effect on the user.

Background information is used in making decisions. Management information contains the results of decisions that have been made. Management information can be presented in a variety of ways, including direct assignments, economic and other types of incentives that affect the behavior of the objects of management.

Delivery methods are used to distinguish directed and undirected economic information. A document is usually presented to one or several addressees in a uniform format. Users will usually search for un directed economic information when they need it.

The Role of Information Technology in Societies

There is a discussion about the character of contemporary society and the role that technologies, information, communication, and co-operation play. It is a branch of contemporary sociology. Information society is the means of sharing information with each other. Information technology is seen as the catalyst for the changes in work organisation, societal structure and politics occurring in the late 20th century because steam power was the technology standing behind industrial society.

The informal economy

Economic agents can be people, businesses, or governments. Economic transactions are when two groups agree to the value of a transaction in a certain currency. Monetary transactions only account for a small part of the economy.

The economy is dependent on all professions, occupations, economic agents and economic activities. The economy is determined by consumption, saving, and investment. The three main sectors of economic activity are primary, secondary and tertiary.

The idea of a global information society is given a new meaning with the spread of the Internet and the growing importance of e- commerce. The new type of economies and economic expansions of countries like China, Brazil, and India brought attention to different from the usually dominating Western type economies and economic models. Informal economic activity is a process that includes many aspects of economic and social theory.

It is difficult to observe, study, define, and measure by its nature. No single source can clearly define the informal economy as a unit of study. The informal sector makes up a significant portion of the economies in developing countries but it is often stigmatized as troublesome and unmanageable.

Information Society

Information Society is a term for a society in which the creation, distribution, and manipulation of information has become the most significant economic and cultural activity. An Information Society is similar to a society that is mostly Industrial or Agrarian. The Information Society uses computers and telecommunications, rather than machines.

Market Economy in Greece

An economy is a large set of activities that help determine how scarce resources are. The production, consumption, and distribution of goods and services are used to fulfill the needs of those living and operating within the economy, which is also referred to as an economic system. Pure market economies are usually government-led.

The United States could be considered a mixed economy. The government provides regulations, public education, and social security benefits to fill in gaps in the market economy and help to create balance. The term market economy refers to an economy that is more market-oriented.
