Communication Disorders and Aphases

Communication disorders are not limited to childhood disorders and may persist into adulthood according to the DSM-IV-TR. They may happen with other disorders. Aphasia is a loss of the ability to comprehend language. Acute aphasias are caused by strokes or brain injury, and primary progressive aphasias are caused by dementia.

The H. pylori Campaign: Communication Research and Evaluation

Communication research can provide demographic information that can be used to choose the right channel. Mass media campaigns, news media stories, popular entertainment, and media advocacy are some of the communication channels. The H. pylori campaign was launched in October 1997 with a national media briefing.

The briefing provided an overview of peptic ulcer disease and focused on diagnosis and treatment, economic impact, and research issues associated with H. The evaluation shows that extensive press coverage resulted in reaching more than 21 million people. The campaign's communication messages are being evaluated through qualitative research.

The Symptoms of Parkinson'S Disease

People with the condition can be mild to severe. There are differences in how severe the symptoms are, how many symptoms there are, and whether or not other problems are present for people with the condition. The severity and symptoms can change over time.

The Social Determinants of Health

A disease is a condition that affects the structure or function of an organisms and is not caused by an injury. External factors may be the cause of a disease. The immune system can produce a variety of diseases, including immunodeficiency, hypersensitivity, allergies and autoimmune disorders.

Social conditions determine health. Illnesses are related to many things. The World Health Organization and the Public Health Agency of Canada have recognized the social determinants of health as a major factor in health.

The World Health Organization's Social Determinants Council recognizes the social factors that affect health in poverty. Medical therapies are efforts to cure or improve a disease. Therapy is synonymous with treatment in the medical field.

The term may refer to therapy. Treatments include medications, surgery, medical devices, and self-care. Treatments can be provided informally by the patient or family members.

Epidemiology is the study of the causes of diseases. Some diseases are more common in certain areas, and in certain times of the year, among people with certain genetic or socio-economic characteristics. Lepers were people who were stigmatized because they had an infectious disease and the term still evokes social stigma.
